检测什么?

表皮生长因子受体是细胞膜受体家族的成员,有助于调节细胞生长、分裂、生存和死亡。在多种肿瘤中其表达量增加,这可能是由于受体扩增及过度表达,导致生长信号过强。表皮生长因子受体蛋白增加,使肿瘤更具侵袭性、更可能转移、并对标准化疗更不敏感,具有这些肿瘤的患者往往预后不佳。因此,针对表皮生长因子受体的肿瘤治疗是一种有价值的的分子治疗方法。表皮生长因子受体特异性抗体与受体结合可阻断生长信号,被用于治疗某些恶性肿瘤。

        检测肿瘤内扩增或过表达的表皮生长因子受体有两种主要的方式:一种方法是检测表皮生长因子受体蛋白质的含量;另一种方法是在基因水平检测基因扩增——用以评价基因的拷贝数。
